The Pony Tail plant is a commonly grown houseplant. It is native to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala. They prefer dry winters and do well with indoor heated air. Their width diameter can span over 2 feet wide. They are characterized by a swollen, thick brown stem as its base, and long, narrow, curly dark green leaves that grow upwards and cascade over it

Bright, indirect light is best
Water
Soak soil about once a week and allow water to drain through the bottom of a pot or dish
Can still survive in moderate neglect, but best to keep consistent care, as this plant can last a long time when treated properly

Fast-draining soil, such as cacti and succulent potting mix
Should be fertilized, preferably with a liquid fertilizer due once or twice per month during the growing season and once a month in winter
