The Monstera deliciosa, also known as the Swiss cheese plant or split-leaf philodendron is a species of flowering plant native to tropical forests of southern Mexico, south to Panama.

Prefers bright, indirect light
Too much direct light in warmer months may burn foliage
WATER
Water thoroughly every one to two weeks
Avoid excess watering; Use a pot that facilitates drainage as plant absorbs all the water it needs
SOIL
Soil will need to dry out slightly in between watering
Avoid letting plant root & soil to sit in water which can lead to root rot
